I am a parent who pays roughly £463 a month in child maintenance. (For One Child) This payment leaves me with no money each month as I have my own bills that were established prior to this obligation, and the Child Maintenance Services (CMS) takes none of these factors into consideration. 

The current system used by CMS to calculate payments is deeply flawed and does not take into account the full financial situation of the paying parent. It's not just about me; there are countless others facing similar struggles.

We need a fairer system that considers all aspects of both parents' finances before determining payment amounts. The current method is causing undue hardship on many paying parents who want nothing more than to support their children but are left unable to meet their own basic needs.
