Reform St. Lawrence Family Court: Protect Rights, Protect Children

Reform St. Lawrence Family Court: Protect Rights, Protect Children
The Issue
For years, I’ve been entangled in a family court system that has consistently dismissed not only my rights as a parent, but my repeated efforts to protect my children from harm. Despite documented concerns, credible evidence, and urgent appeals for safety, the court has shown a persistent pattern of inaction, delay, and outright disregard.
Time after time, warnings went unheard. Protective efforts were minimized. Decisions were rendered without transparency, accountability, or meaningful engagement with the facts. Instead of prioritizing the well-being of vulnerable children, the system protected its process, not its people.
I’ve followed every rule, filed every motion, and spoken every truth I could. Still, I’ve been met with silence, condescension, or procedural deflection. I know I’m not alone—others in this community have faced the same obstacles, felt the same frustration, and watched the same institutions fail the very people they claim to serve.
This petition is not just about one parent or one case. It is about a system that treats families like files, not human beings. It’s about children who are left unprotected because the court refuses to look beyond its own paperwork.
We demand a better system. A transparent one. A responsive one. A human one.
For too long, the family court system has operated in the shadows—unchecked, unbalanced, and often unjust. Parents enter these buildings seeking fairness and protection, only to face a system that silences, punishes, and isolates. I know this firsthand.
This petition is not just about one case—it’s about a broken structure that fails the very people it’s meant to serve. When judges act without accountability, when hearings become rituals of power rather than justice, and when decisions are made without evidence or empathy, the result is trauma that lasts generations.
We are calling for:
Independent oversight of family court proceedings
Public transparency of rulings and judicial behavior
Protections for pro se litigants and parents facing retaliation
Mental health advocacy and family-centered reform
The courthouse should not be a place of fear. It should be a place of resolution, healing, and truth.
If you’ve ever felt powerless in the face of legal authority, or know someone who has, stand with us.
Let your voice become part of something louder. Together, we can make them listen.
