There is a huge problem in our educational system. The way schools are funded in the United States makes it impossible to have equal opportunity for everyone to be successful. 

Currently, the majority of funding for schools come from property tax. The problem with this is that richer communities benefit from a higher level of education because they have extra money for better teachers, classes, equipment, (etc.). Poorer communities in the meantime struggle to have enough teachers, textbooks, and other necessary helpful resources. 

The solution for this problem cannot be a change in how school districts are funded and by changing the property tax to income tax. In times of recession, property tax is more a more stable source of money than income or sales tax. So instead, the solution is to redistribute the money from property taxes in order to make the opportunities for everyone a little bit more even. The redistribution of the money would occur only in their own state.
