Reform New York City's Criminal Justice Laws to Keep Violent Offenders Off Our Streets

Reform New York City's Criminal Justice Laws to Keep Violent Offenders Off Our Streets
The Issue
Right now, many innocent women and vulnerable people live in fear everyday. The streets that were once safe now feel like a battleground as violent criminals are released after arrest (many repeat offenders) due to current bail laws.
Even as the state sends the National Guard to police the City's subway stations, violent attacks continue. Right now, women across the city are being violently attacked on the street for no apparent reason. Many attribute this spike to recent changes in bail laws that allow potentially dangerous individuals back onto our streets.
The current criminal justice system is failing us by prioritizing the rights of offenders over the safety of law-abiding citizens. It's time for change. We need reform that ensures those charged with violent crimes are not simply released back into society where they can continue their patterns of harm.
We need to get the attention of lawmakers to revise criminal justice and bail laws so they better protect ALL innocent civilians from repeat violent offenders. The safety of all New Yorkers should be the number 1 priority in Albany and City Hall.
Please sign this petition to support the following:
- Pressure Governor Hochul and the State Assembly to rollback the 2019 Bail Reforms
- Pressure Judges to use their power to keep repeat offenders off the streets while awaiting trial
- Continue to increase police presence on the New York subway system to combat the increase in violent crime
With your signature, we will have the power to go to our representatives and ask for change.
