Reform Lake Trout Regulations in Ontario's Fisheries Management Zone 10
The Issue
The current regulations for lake trout (Salvelinus namaycush) in Ontario Fisheries Management Zone 10 allows for a possession limit of 2 with not more than 1 greater than 40cm for a Sport fishing license, and 1 lake trout for a Conservation license.
We the following anglers hereby request Mike Harris, Minister of Natural Resources and Forestry to revoke the current regulations for Lake Trout in Zone 10 reflect no size limit, effective January 2026.
Present Regulations:
Lake trout
Season: January 1 to Labour Day
Limits: S-2; not more than 1 greater than 40 centimetres, and C-1
Proposed Regulations:
Lake trout
Season: January 1 to Labour Day
Limits: S-2; and C-1
