Reform Family Court in Calcasieu Parish, LA

The Issue

My daughter was ripped from my care, away from siblings, family members, and friends due to the buddy system that fills the pockets of our corrupt legal system. She has suffered trauma that nobody can fix and has lost precious time with everyone she loved. Many children and mothers are facing similar injustices in Calcasieu Parish with zero help or support, and it's time for us to stand up and fight for what's right.

The family court system in Calcasieu Parish is intended to uphold the best interests of the children. However, it is failing as it frequently alienates children from good and loving mothers, plunging these families into emotional turmoil and financial ruin due to excessive court filings and mandatory counseling sessions. Alarmingly, many of these court-appointed counselors do not meet the qualifications set by the state board, yet their recommendations often play a decisive role in child custody battles.

This systemic failure is not just a personal grievance, but a widespread issue affecting numerous families. Children, the primary victims of such misguided rulings, endure unnecessary trauma and are deprived of secure and nurturing environments. Meanwhile, mothers are left to struggle, not only with the emotional agony of separation from their children but also with mounting debts related to legal fees and enforced child support dues which further destabilize these families.

This is more than an issue of unfair practices; alienation is a form of child abuse. Our children deserve to be heard. We call for immediate reform in the Calcasieu Parish family court system to ensure the proper qualifications of all court-appointed personnel, transparent and fair proceedings, and true justice that prioritizes the well-being of children above all else. The time has come to stop the perpetuation of injustice and to restore hope to our families.

Sign this petition to demand accountability and change in the family court system of Calcasieu Parish. Together, let's fight for a fair system that truly protects our children and supports loving families in Lake Charles, LA, and beyond.
