We, the people, can vote on changes to congressional district maps but not our children’s safety?

As a concerned California resident, I urge immediate action to be taken to either revoke AB495 or amend it to require a parent or legal guardian's signature when releasing their parental rights to the form holder. Every parent should feel secure about their child's safety while they are at school, without the fear that their children might be taken into someone else's custody without proper authorization or parental consent. The risks associated with the current implementation of AB495 are gravely concerning, as they threaten the very foundation of parental authority and trust in our education system as well as directly affect our children’s safety. 

AB495, as it stands, allows for the transfer of guardianship to third parties without necessarily requiring parental consent or knowledge. This can have devastating effects on families, creating situations where parents lose control over decisions concerning their children's welfare.
