We use a variety of personal care products and rarely stop, for a while, to realize the alarming rate at which we consume and discard the product packaging, mainly plastic - Shampoos, Body Lotion, Facewash, Body Wash, and many more!

Amidst the COVID pandemic, I have got an opportunity to reflect on multiple spheres of life, and making baby steps for a sustainable environment is one of those. I have already contacted Dabur India to express my concern over the fact that there is no alternative to plastic packaging available for one of their products today, of which I am a regular consumer. 

Through this petition, I would like to appeal to all the major Personal Care brands, in India, and around the world, to switch to the following alternatives for packaging, in the decreasing order of preference:

1. Refillable Packaging 

2. Refill Stations

3. Plastic container refund mechanism for recycling

It is statistically proven that among beauty packaging, the major chunk is discarded after single-use and a very small portion reaches the recycling center. Plastic reduction is any day more impactful than recycling.

Plastic packaging of beauty products is the norm that we need to break.
