Reevaluate and Revolutionize Troy's School System to Enhance Engagement and Stop Bullying

The Issue

I am making this appeal, inspired by my disheartening personal experiences from my seventh-grade year in Troy's school system. I was bullied, targeted with made-up rumors, and it had a profound impact on me. No child should ever have to face such issues in their journey of knowledge and development.

Our school system here in Troy, Missouri, needs to undergo intrinsic revision aimed at enhancing engagement and stemming the tide of the bullying epidemic. As students, we should feel safe, cared for, and motivated to learn, not bored or relegated due to absentee interventions.

The National Center for Education Statistics states that one out of every five students experiences bullying, a statistic that is both staggering and unsettling. This data informs us that the problem is widespread, and it takes a collective and pro-active approach to combat it effectively.

In parallel, boredom and disinterest in academic activities set the stage for underperformance and dropout risks. A Gallup Student Poll found a significant decrease in student engagement as children progress through school. This static school environment inhibits our potential, stifles creativity, and reduces our enthusiasm for education.

Our call is for the local administrators and policy-makers to rethink our school system design. We need an educational reform that caters not just to regular academic progress, but also nurtures a supportive, engaging, and dynamic learning atmosphere that promotes respect and inclusivity. Our intent is to create an environment where each student can thrive without reservations.

I encourage you to join in supporting this petition, help us protect our children, and create a future in Troy's schools where everyone can learn in peace, harmony, free from fear, and filled with curiosity. Let us take this step towards revolutionary change together. Please sign this petition.
