Reevaluate & Adjust The Pay Structure of US National Soccer Teams

Reevaluate & Adjust The Pay Structure of US National Soccer Teams
The Issue
I am writing this petition as a well-meaning US citizen and an ardent supporter of our national soccer teams, who has noticed a pressing issue that I believe needs attention. I am concerned about the current pay structure that implies men and women players on our national teams are at a similar level of skill and contribute the same to their respective leagues.
The US National Men's Team has consistently shown high levels of skill and capability, attracting a larger viewership. This, in turn, generates more revenue for the organization, which should logically be reflected in the men's team's remuneration. On the other hand, US National Women's Team, despite their commendable efforts and advancements, are yet to reach the same level of performance and audience draw.
According to the data from the Wall Street Journal, US men's 2014 World Cup brought in $17.6 million in sponsorship revenue, whereas the women's 2015 World Cup brought in $498,000.
Gauging from these reasons, I believe it is high time that the current pay structure is reevaluated to reflect the skill set, revenue generation, and the market reality. Let's ensure that our US National Soccer Teams are esteemed and compensated appropriately for their skill level and contribution.
Let's urge the governing authorities to adjust the pay structure based on performance, competence, and attraction power. The pay should scientifically represented the generated revenue and talent without any gender bias.
Your support can bring this much-needed change. Let's strive for equity, fairness, and justice in sport. I invite you to sign this petition we can start making a difference today.
