I am a resident of the Fylde coast, and like many others in my community, I strongly believe that we would greatly benefit from having our local airport reopened for domestic travel in the UK and to Europe. The convenience of flying from Blackpool as opposed to Manchester cannot be overstated. Our local airport is less crowded, more accessible, and offers a more personalised experience.

Blackpool Airport was once an active hub for regional flights within the UK and to select destinations in Europe. However, it ceased its operations in 2014 due to financial difficulties. Since then, residents of Blackpool have had no choice but to travel further afield - often battling traffic and crowds - just to catch a flight.

Reopening Blackpool Airport could also bring significant economic benefits. According to the UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), airports contribute significantly towards employment and economic activity both directly at the site and indirectly through supporting industries.
