An "indie" clothing brand called Redwolf has been selling t-shirts with the message "Crows before Hoes" printed across the front for over a year and they still continue to sell the particular item. For those who may not know, "Crows" is a reference to a certain all male army from the popular TV show Game of Thrones. This message is inspired by a phrase in popular culture, "Bros over Hoes". The wording of the phrase casually uses the term "Hoe" which is actually an intentional misspelling of the word Whore. The use of this particular word on an everyday staple clothing like casual t-shirts encourages the idea that it is quite okay to refer to women as "whores". But the question we must ask those who stock and sell this item: "Is it really okay to call a woman a whore?" Don't perpetuate mysogynist culture that suggests casual verbal demeaning of women is okay. It is not okay to use the word Whore. It is insulting and humiliating. It is inappropriate.
