Most developed countries have a maximum of 40 hour work week. Countries like Germany and New Zealand are progressing despite having lesser working hours. India should definitely learn a thing or two from them. Employees wouldn't mind coming on time, if their living time is also fixed. Companies should penalize employees that don't reach office on time, but at the same time companies should be penalised for not leaving employees on time. This can only be achieved by the labour ministry efforts. It is therefore my humble request to everyone to share this petition and help it reach the ears and eyes of the our labour ministry so that it gets implemented. We also need strong and strict Labour commissioners, who actually work for what they are being paid for instead of sitting in their offices and doing nothing. Labour commissioners should mandatorily visit offices and check registers, entry and exit timings, respond to anonymous employee complaints etc. We no longer are fighting for a small cause, but a cause that is so big that it is affecting every Indian even in the work from home scenario. So please make a let's make our government implement the 40 hour work week rule for the sake of our future generations and ours. Sharing in this case is actually caring. Don't be afraid to raise your voice.
