On April 14, the UT Austin president announced that their undergrad summer classes will have a 50% tuition discount. On April 15, UNT announced they will cut out their Recreational Facility Fee, Student Union Fee, Medical Services Fee, Transportation Fee and Athletics Fee for the summer, which basically means tuition is reduced. Baylor also announced they will discount, as well as other colleges in America (Winthrop University, American University).

Since UTD is also under the UT system, isn't there any way we can receive a discount like UT Austin did? Summer courses are online which means we won't have access to facilities like the gym, library, student union, computer labs, etc so we shouldn't have to pay for those fees just like UNT. Many students have lost part-time jobs or are working reduced hours, and paying full-price for an online semester is burdensome. Loans are not a help either.

I'm hoping spreading awareness will lead UTD to take some action in reducing tuition, and I realize that some of you may not care since this applies to the summer semester, but please help in signing and sharing with at least one other person. Hope everyone is staying safe and thank you for reading!
