HELP us STOP the noise and air pollution caused by the LIRR at the Montauk train station. Train(s), usually more than 1 and sometimes 4, are idling over 18 hours everyday. The noise is deafening, not to mention what the LIRR is needlessly doing to the air quality in Montauk with diesel engines constantly running. The LIRR needs to come up with a solution to this on-going problem. Residents at Rough Rider's Condominium Complex with over 150 units are most exposed to this situation. However, noise levels can be heard at The Montauk Manor and within a 2 mile radius of the train station. Various environmental agencies, watch groups, NY state government and LIRR officials have been notified throughout the years and have done absolutely nothing. Enough is enough.  It's time we take a stance together and fight this calamity. If you care about Montauk and Long Island, please sign this petition.
