A lot of residents and some local councillors believe that reducing the speed limit to 20 mph through the village is a responsible and beneficial measure that can greatly enhance the safety and well-being of the residents. 
We have all noticed the enormous increase in traffic and speed over the last few years with more and more vehicles using us as a rat run. Every day we witness poor and inconsiderate driving and after several near misses and minor incidents, it is only a matter of time before there is a nasty accident.

By reducing the speed limit, we can significantly enhance safety for both drivers and pedestrians alike. This change will not only make our streets safer but also promote a more peaceful environment within our community.

As part of the criteria for Suffolk County Council to consider a reduction in speed, it has to have significant support of local residents. In assessing this community support, Councillors should review the views of District, Town and Parish Councils and give weight to petitions and local residents’ views.

We urge local authorities to consider this proposal for the betterment of Palgrave's residents and visitors alike. With a good proportion of residents support we believe we can encourage  our local authorities to support the initiative.
