Like many Arizona citizens, I find myself burdened with nearly $200 annually for license renewal. This expense, piled on top of monthly car insurance, gas, car maintenance, and other bills, is exhausting and seems needless. I believe there are thousands of people who are also feeling the pressure of these high costs, and it's time we addressed this issue.

Arizona has one of the highest vehicle licensing fees in the country, a distinction we did not ask for and certainly don't desire. It places an unnecessary financial burden on already stretched budgets. As per the Arizona Department of Transportation, vehicle licensing fees are used to fund highway patrol, vehicle inspection, license production, and other "administrative costs". 

We are not against contributing to the maintenance of our state's infrastructure, but we firmly believe it can be achieved in a less financially straining manner. We urge the state government to reconsider the current steep rates and to explore alternative funding options that will not place such a heavy burden on residents. It's time for the Arizona Government to put its citizens first.
