Early Childhood Educators in Ontario are being overworked, underpaid, and de-valued. Their well-being and overall health are not being made a priority while they work long shifts, receive minimal paid sick days, are not given adequate time for curriculum planning, and receive low wages. 

If this change is not made soon, the industry of ECE will suffer immensely. Many professionals are leaving the field due to this treatment and it has begun to create major shortages for families who are in desperate need of childcare across Ontario. 

Now is the time to act—we must show ECEs in our communities that we care and appreciate them! Without the care and support that ECEs provide, families will not receive the quality care they desperately need as early childhood educators are not able to maintain and support themselves in the conditions they currently face.
