Reduce Minimum Order Quantity for Sysco
Reduce Minimum Order Quantity for Sysco
The Issue
As a small business owner in Ontario, Canada, I have been directly affected by the recent changes in Sysco's ordering policy. The increase in the minimum order quantity has placed an undue burden on businesses like mine that rely on their services for our daily operations.
Sysco, a leading global food distributor, recently changed its policy from a minimum dollar amount to a minimum quantity of pieces per order. This shift has created significant challenges for smaller businesses that do not need large quantities of certain items but are now forced to over-order or face supply shortages.
According to Statistics Canada, there are over 1.15 million small businesses in Canada which could potentially be affected by this change (source: Statistics Canada). Many of these businesses operate with slim margins and cannot afford to tie up their capital with unnecessary inventory due to Sysco's new policy.
We understand that Sysco may have implemented this change as part of cost-saving measures or efficiency improvements. However, we believe it is possible to strike a balance between operational efficiency and customer needs. We propose reverting back to the previous system based on minimum dollar amounts per order - even if it means slightly increasing this threshold compared to what it was before.
By signing this petition, you're supporting small businesses across Ontario and urging Sysco to reconsider its current ordering policy. Your signature can make a difference - sign today!
