Happy New Year! I wish you all a wonderful 2020 and may this be a year of positive changes!
 
We entered a new decade with all the same issues that women have been facing for decades before…
 
-       The average time to diagnose endometriosis is 7.5 years!! In the UK!!!
-       73% of the womb cancer diagnoses are in women over 60 but not even a single woman beyond the age of 65 is invited for a smear test (which only tests for signs of cervical cancer) never mind any other checks.
-       Most GPs are not specialised in women’s health, but they are the ones who have to identify our symptoms. Women are suffering from: period pain, hormonal imbalance, increased sensitivity to the normal hormonal changes, endometriosis, PCOS, fibroids, menopause, BUT WE ARE TOLD IT’S ALL IN OUR HEAD!
-       Almost half of women (45%) must wait three months or more from first visiting their GP to getting a correct diagnosis, which in many cases comes too late.
-       Every day 21 women die from gynaecological cancer due to late diagnosis.
-       Every day 31 women die from breast cancer.
 
I’m sure we would all agree that we do not want to end up in 2030 with the same situation. We don’t want to lose women that are dear to us. We must put an end to this!
We can change this and we can change this together! We put the people in power, and we have the right to ask to get what we REALLY need! Throughout history we have seen social movements that have changed the world!
