I, like many of you, am deeply affected by the significantly high land and school taxes being imposed on our properties. Over the years, the escalating land and school taxes have placed an unjustifiable burden on my own household and many others across our community. With our land unfairly over-assessed, we are left to carry a heavy financial burden that's difficult to sustain.

According to the Tax Foundation, the United States has one of the highest property tax rates globally (Tax Foundation, 2020). Such rates increase the cost of owning property, preventing many hardworking citizens from achieving the American dream of property ownership. Moreover, there is a growing concern about the transparency and efficiency of how these collected taxes are used, especially when it comes to our educational system.

It is crucial for our voices to be heard to effectuate the change we so desperately need. We are urging local government bodies to thoroughly review and amend the current property and school tax system. We request an immediate reassessment of land values to reflect the current market and an efficient use of school taxes to ensure our children receive a valuable education.
