Reduce Human Prescence in Antarctica - Save the Animals!

The Issue

Emperor penguins, the most iconic of their kind are dwindling at a rate that could lead to extinction. They aren't the only native animal to Antarctica facing this problem. Numerous species as well as habitats are coming dangerously close to extinction and we, as humans are the problem. The tourist market and research are both increasing on the continent, causing more human traffic and use of land that animals need for habitats. We are introducing numerous different kinds of exotic and invasive species, bacteria, and materials all to the detriment of creatures like the great emperor penguin. Our presence doesn't stop at research and tourism, as many planes, boats, and other transport vehicles are present and operational on the continent leading to more than just a physical footprint. Antarctica now has the staple human feature: carbon footprint. Humans have already started polluting a land we've almost never resided on, leading to a much more extreme risk of extinction for the native species. While climate change is a factor, the reduction of human factors on the land can cut down the extinction rates by a surprisingly significant amount. If we act now, we can help save these animals and their homes before it's too late. By signing this petition, you stand by the hopefully millions who care about these animals and believe they should be left alone and left alive on their native land.
