Increased golf membership fees mean pensioners and younger golfs can no longer afford to play the game. Making the future of Gulf Harbour Country Club and the sport of golf look grim.

On September 22/09/2022 Peter Spiers the GM of Gulf Harbour Country Club released a statement that the Golf Clubs membership fees will be increased, taking action 01/10/2022.

This increase in membership costs are the second increase in the last 12 months. And has received negative feed back from most GHCC members, with many committed to leaving the club once their current membership has expired.

The recent changes have seen all membership categories increase in cost. And multiple membership categories be removed completely, including 9 hole and transition memberships.

Owners and managers of golf clubs have a responsibility to develop the game of golf in New Zealand. Encouraging all generations of golfers to commit to the game, making the future of golf greater.

Showing appreciation to those who have committed a life to getting out every weekend to play, and encouraging the next generation of golfers to commit to the game is key for a successful future of a golf club and the game.
