I travel often to Ghana and I am dreading it would get to a time either in my lifetime or my children's life where they would not be able to afford a passport renewal to visit the motherland. The current cost of renewing a Ghanaian passport abroad, especially in the UK, is prohibitively expensive. This financial burden makes it difficult for many Ghanaians living abroad to maintain their connection with their homeland.

The high fees are not justifiable and place an unnecessary strain on families who already face numerous challenges living away from home. We urge the UK High Commission and the Ghanaian Foreign Office to review and reduce these costs, making it more affordable for all Ghanaians abroad.
