Im extremely emotional as a lot of heart has been put into this. I have had the privilege to have many great conversations with intelligent individuals, some of which are in the mental health field and are an important role in this community. I’ve always said if not Redskins, then we must pick a mascot with purpose. I am so passionate about the well being of the kids in the community, and their future. Having a purposeful mascot that holds such depth, of being great together and individually is what our community needs more than ever!
Sandusky Redskin Community
We must now all be prepared to work together for the greater good!
This is an opportunity to stand up and sign the petition to support a mascot that builds on to our Redskin name. “The Wolf (Redskin) on the hill is not as hungry as the wolf climbing the hill.” – Arnold Schwarzenegger
The wolf was a Native American spirit animal, viewed as a creator, guide, and brother or sister. What an amazing way to utilize, remember, & represent Our Redskin Community (Our Wolf Pack) Support our Youth, as this will be their history as well one day!
FOREVER A REDSKIN=WOLF MENTALITY
A mascot that represents us all.
Characteristics & Criteria From the School Board:
Likeable- A True Redskin will understand WHY the WOLF. Build On!
Confident & Strong- Humble confidence, self reliant, fearless, build strong social bonds, and has strong work ethic.
Has an identity- Every Individual in our Community will prosper mentally from Wolf Mentality.
Fits the area/Represents Sandusky-What an amazing way to utilize, remember, & represent Our Redskin Community (Our Wolf Pack)
Fierce- Show heartfelt yet powerful intensity.
Powerful- “They never stop climbing the hill” relentless because the toughest climb leads you to the best views. The hardest walks lead you to the greatest destinations.
Fun- Known for the ability to have a work/life balance.
Positive, not negative/inappropriate- This is VITAL. The tale of the two wolves explains that it is up to YOU to chose what mindset you feed. Good>Evil
Gender/Race Neutral- Not singling out a specific type(race) of wolf. Both males & females are leaders.
Simple- Wolf Mentality guides Individuals to be as resourceful as the wolves, know our place in society, and be better communicators.
Inspirational- Inspires individuals by giving them opportunity for self motivation, growth, and structure.
Appropriate for Athletics & other Curricular Groups- 100%, Sandusky consists of many “packs” within the community. Sandusky is also #ONEPACK consisting of Respect, Loyalty, Protection, & Compassion. This mascot/mentality provides realistic structure, that is absolutely vital to our Community, Our Pack.
It is not the color of the shirt someone is wearing, it is the individual that is wearing the shirt that’s important. Stand for a Mascot that makes sense!

“In a world full of lions & tigers entertaining the masses, have you ever seen a Wolf performing in a circus?”
1. Be Instinctive - Follow your path & leave your mark in life.
2. Be Trusting - Ultimate Team Player, protective, trust family, friends & teachers.
3. Be Self Reliant - Take a stand for something you believe in. Nourish your body, heal your wounds.
4. Be Wild - Have fun, make time for it. The concept of work/life balance=more productive.
5. Be Adaptable. They don’t feel sorry for themselves or complain life isn’t fair. They accept circumstances (honor our Redskin name) and leverage resources that are available at the time (sign the petition) to come out ahead. They move gracefully and trust their instincts.
