Welcome to June. In the month of May, more than 125 people signed the online petition supporting the redesignation of the Robert E. Lee Memorial as a National Historic Site. Over the last two weeks of May, 15 more members of the US House of Representatives have become cosponsors of the H.J. Res. 76 legislation. That brings the total number of cosponsors to 123 who hail from 33 different states and the District of Columbia. Forty-two cosponsors are members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Five of the cosponsors are members of the Problem Solvers Caucus (PSC). The PSC membership is made up of both Republicans and Democrats who work to find and support legislation that is bipartisan. The newest cosponsors represent constituents who reside in 13 different states helping to illustrate that this legislation is supported in every corner of the United States. They include:

The clock is approaching midnight for this legislation. As we enter the final quarter of the 118th Congress, we remain optimistic that we can pass this legislation during this session. We need more voices to join yours in support of this effort. 750 more signatures and we’ll reach our milestone goal of 5,000 signatures we established on July 23rd 2022.
This legislation deserves to be bipartisan. We seek GOP caucus members who recognize the value of interpreting history inclusively and are willing to support legislation that will help our country make that happen. We are focusing our energy and conversations on several Republicans that include Reps. Don Bacon (NE-2), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-1) and Cathy McMorris Rodger (WA-5) among others. Help us convince these members and others that this legislation is worthy of bipartisan support by contacting you member here.
We can do this!
