The Issue

To: Governor Phil Scott and the Vermont 250th Anniversary Commission,

We, the undersigned, respectfully express our concerns regarding the proposed semi quincentennial Logo for Vermont's 250th Anniversary celebrations. While we appreciate the efforts, we believe that the use of the rainbow colors, that has a distinct association with LGBTQ+ Pride flag does not accurately represent the rich history and heritage of our great state of Vermont.

As we commemorate the 250th anniversary of Vermont's role in the American Revolutionary War, we urge you to consider a design that truly reflects the beginnings of our nation.

Special Interest groups certainly don't have anything to do with the Anniversary of the Revolutionary War Battles fought by Vermont Forefathers. For example, Vermonters made a lasting impact on America's fight for independence, playing a pivotal role in the colonists' struggle against Great Britain. The Green Mountain Boys, led by Ethan Allen, launched a daring assault on Fort Ticonderoga, securing crucial supplies and artillery for the Continental Army.

Therefore, we propose that the logo be redesigned. By doing so, we can ensure that our country's 250th Anniversary celebrations are a source of pride for all Vermonters.

We look forward to a design that truly represents this historical milestone in our country's independence.

Sincerely,

Vermonters
