The Stables Farm Shop, Café & Farm Park will be closing its doors for the final time on the 28th February 2016 This decision has not been taken lightly, however the business is no longer commercially viable in its current form. To make it commercially viable we needed to increase the scale of the business by starting with the size of the car park and Café (as advised by many other successful Farm Shop and Cafés). We applied for planning permission to expand our Café and car park, which was sadly rejected by Redditch Borough Council. As a result, we were left with two choices, close the business or re-locate the whole business somewhere else on site. The costs and risks associated with this were too high, so it left us with no choice but to close. Obviously it is a deeply sad time for everyone involved and we are all frustrated that Redditch Borough Council have not been supportive of a business that has offered so much to the local community. We can however be proud that we have given so many people in Redditch and beyond a great day out in the Worcestershire countryside. We are grateful to the 4,800 Facebook followers for spreading ‘The Stables message’ and everyone who gave us lovely reviews on TripAdvisor. Because of you, our Farm Park is now the number 1 attraction in Redditch, and the Farm Shop & Café have been the number 1 Restaurant in Redditch for quite some time. We all want to thank our owners, Jim Cockburn and Jan Rees, for their ongoing support, commitment and financial investment throughout the years. We thank all our staff who have worked with such dedication and enthusiasm, and finally but not at all least our loyal customers who have made coming to work such a pleasure.
