Thanks for signing. As we didn't have or need a particular number of signatures for this cause, I've opted to send the petition link to Council today, now that they will be largely back from holidays.

The NPWS was asked whether it would provide bins for campers at Gambell's Rest. I was advised that it used to provide them but they were misused and vandalised, and rubbish was spread by wildlife and put some animals at risk. So it won't be replacing bins, and like most Parks, requires visitors to take their rubbish with them. This adds weight to the case for Council to provide better rubbish bins plus recycling bins in the town centre as some campers won't want to take smelly rubbish with them once they leave town.
