I am reaching out because I am feeling discouraged that 1,466 people have viewed this petition and 91 have shared, yet 146 have taken the time to sign.

However, as I type this I am reminded that I am SO blessed to have all 146 signatures. My goal was 50 by the end of the first day and that was passed. Then I thought 100 by the end of the week. Passed it! 146 signatures later I am looking at 200, then 300, then 400 and so on. This being said, “THANK YOU 1-146!”

Some comments I have heard:

I have been told that many have assumed the consent was already 18yo. -Nope

I have been told that some thought it was only 16yo if both parties are minors and consenting. -Nope

I am not necessarily asking that the age of consent be raised to 18 (though ultimately I think it should). I am merely suggesting that the process in which the age decided on be reviewed. I am stating that this law needs to be looked into and rewritten to protect minor children from being taken advantage of by persons of a significant age gap. I am asking that there be stipulations put in place. I am asking that this law be evaluated and rectified in a way that is protecting the minor child rather than the predator. I am asking you to join me in pointing out that if given the choice (though I believe BOTH should be illegal) Id rather it be legal for a person to handle themselves with a minors picture in hand than be able to physically engage with the actual minor child.

Please, don’t stop sharing and sharing and sharing. We need more signatures to be taken serious and more importantly we need this to be seen by the right person who can truly bring this goal to fruition.
