Dear Citizens of Mumbai, Thane district and Navi Mumbai, 

I am saddened and distressed by the regular news about my fellow citizens risking their lives daily in overcrowded local trains. This concerns not just me but every citizen relying on infrastructure in Mumbai, Thane, and Navi Mumbai. Recently, the local trains claimed the life of a collegian who fell from an overcrowded train between Thane and Mulund. In another incident, a teenager was found unconscious near Diva Station. How many more lives will be lost before we take urgent measures?

The schedules of schools, colleges, and offices are a major contributing factor to this overcrowding during peak hours. The simultaneous timing creates immense pressure on our public transportation system, leading to unfortunate accidents and worsening commuter stress.

A solution that comes to mind is the potential implementation of staggered timings or promoting online attendance for schools and colleges at least. 

However, to make a real difference, we need your support. I ask you to reconsider the fixed beginning and closing hours of the establishments in our city. Let's prioritize the safety of millions of commuters and grant them a less stressful, more humane way to work and study.
