Recognize gestation as a protected stage of human life
La causa
SUPREME COURT PETITION
For far too long, the gestation stage of human life—spanning from a fertilized egg to the miraculous moment of birth—has not been afforded the full spectrum of protections it rightfully deserves. This is deeply personal for me because I believe that every stage of human life must be respected and protected under the law.
Roe v. Wade, the landmark decision by the Supreme Court of the United States, partly addressed the complexities surrounding gestation and women's rights. However, in light of continual debates and evolving societal values, there is a need to revisit and reexamine the integral protections due to the unborn.
The gestation stage is vital; it nurtures the potential for human life in its purest form. Under the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, no State shall "deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." This constitutional mandate necessitates granting full protection to the unborn, thereby ensuring that the sanctity of human life is preserved from its earliest stages.
Scientific advancements have made it clear that at every stage of its development, a fetus is distinct and living, with many recognizable human features forming well before the commonly accepted milestone of viability. Studies reveal that by eight weeks, an embryo exhibits responding reflexes, a working heart, and foundational brain activity, all hallmarks of dynamic life.
Regrettably, current laws leave the gestation stage woefully vulnerable and subject to circumstances that vary unfairly between states. To rectify this, we must advocate for federal recognition and protection under the Fourteenth Amendment, distinguishing gestation with the dignity it demands, enforcing a nationwide standard that aligns with our commitment to human rights shared globally.
I urge the Supreme Court to reevaluate existing precedent and interpret the Constitution's mandates to include gestation within the purview of protected human life. This step will not only unify the nation under a moral and legal umbrella but also align with the global perspective on the rights of the unborn.
A petition to the Supreme Court of the United States of America to cease and desist destruction of the gestation stage of human life would argue that the human gestation stage; from fertilized egg to birth be given the same protection as all the stages of human life, under the equal rights protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment, section 1. "Nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law." The destruction of the human gestation stage (which is an intrinsic part of the whole of a person's life) would deprive a person of life. Human gestation stage first; childhood stage second; Adolescent stage third, and adult stage, fourth.
The gestation period is an intrinsic part of the stages of life, that is inherently protected as are the aforementioned stages of human life; by the equal rights protection clause of the Fourteenth Amendment of the constitution of the United States of America. A person's life is defined by stages. The destruction of the gestation stage of human life would cause death, without due process. Therefore, violate the Fourteenth Amendment.
Join me in petitioning the Supreme Court of the United States to cease the destruction of the gestation stage and to enshrine its protection, echoing our values as a just and compassionate society. Please sign this petition to bring about this urgent change.
