Recognize 11/11 as Solo Founders Day, every year
The Issue
Addressed to
Accelerators, investors, founder communities, and tech companies worldwide
Many of today’s companies start with one person.
One person who writes the code, designs the product, talks to the first customers, handles the money, and makes every hard call alone. No co-founder to split the load. No team to fall back on when things break at 2am.
These are solo founders and solo builders. We believe these are the people who can create immense wealth and impact, and help build a more abundant and prosperous future for all. They are heroes without capes, working day and night with passion and belief, and making the most of the opportunity technology has given us in this era. They should be celebrated with a day of their own.
We’re asking for 11/11 to be recognized every year as Solo Founders Day.
A day to celebrate the people who build alone. A day to share their stories, use their products, and back them with attention, customers, and capital.
Why 11/11?
Four ones, side by side. One person, one idea, one product, one shot. Each one stands on its own, which is exactly what solo founders do every day.
11/11 already holds deep meaning for many people around the world, including Remembrance Day and Veterans Day. Solo Founders Day is not meant to replace those observances. It sits alongside them with respect.
What we’re asking for
Accelerators, investors, and founder communities to recognize 11/11 as Solo Founders Day and mark it every year
Tech companies and platforms to spotlight solo-built products on 11/11
Media and newsletters to share the stories of solo founders on the day
Solo founders and builders everywhere to share what they’ve built using #SoloFoundersDay
How you can celebrate
Try or buy a product built by a solo founder
Share a solo founder’s story on social media
If you’re a solo founder, post what you’ve built and tag #SoloFoundersDay
If you invest or run a program, open your door to solo founders for a day
