I have started this petition to reach out to GoI and ultimately Hon'ble PM ji to accord recognition to Andhra Natyam as a Major dance form.  We do have respect for all dance forms whether Classical or folk dances. But, what is not understood is that when much less known dance folk dances forms which have presence only in one or two small districts of one state only,  also have been accorded Major dance status, what prevents  Sangeet Natak Academy of India to accord Major dance form status to Andhra Natyam  which is popular and followed by thousands of artists and appreciated by lakhs of art lovers from Telugu states and  other states of India and abroad?   

This change.org petition has been signed by 1400 people already and supported by many more.  we need to get more support to reach to put pressure on the Sangeet natak academy to grant major dance form status to Andhra natyam. lets continue our efforts. 

It is free campaign and  no amount needs to be paid for supporting it.  only if it can be signed and forwarded to friends and like minded persons it will be helpful  to reach our goal.
