Reclassify Mini-Pigs as Pets, Not Livestock in City and County Ordinances

Reclassify Mini-Pigs as Pets, Not Livestock in City and County Ordinances
The Issue
Pot belly/mini pigs are pets! It’s time for government officials to acknowledge that across America.
I am not asking for donations on this platform. You can sign and exit.
if you would like to donate to help with signage, promotion or feed, that would be great. My cash app is $MissK8T
I am a resident living on over 4 acres of land zoned Residential, outside the city limits. Many like me choose to live here to enjoy the freedom and liberties that come with owning our own land. Over time, I've rescued 3 mini-pigs who have become beloved members of our family. They are no threat to the neighborhood or anyone's quality of life.
However, due to complaints from one individual, zoning officials have informed me that unless changes are made to city and county ordinances, I will be forced to remove my pets from my property. This is because mini-pigs are currently classified as livestock or farm animals rather than pets.
This classification is not only outdated but also fails to acknowledge the reality that many families like mine keep mini-pigs as domesticated pets. According to American Mini Pig Association (AMPA), there are an estimated 1 million pet pigs in America alone - a testament that these animals serve more as companions than livestock.
We call upon our local government officials and lawmakers for immediate action - reclassify mini-pigs as pets in city and county ordinances so they can continue living with their loving families without fear of removal or displacement.
Please sign this petition if you believe in fair treatment for all pets regardless of species. Your signature could help keep families together and prevent unnecessary heartache caused by outdated laws.
They are considered pets in so many states, let's help Mississippi catch up with the times. Olive Branch passed it, the Gulf Coast should too!
