Its now been 200 days!
- That's 28 weeks without my son at home.
- 200 nights no one has tucked him into bed asking him his favourite new science fact.
- 28 weekends of fun, adventure and relaxing that we'll never get back.
- 200 dinners there's been an empty plate at our table.
- 200 mornings my son has woken up in an unfamiliar bed in a group home.
And why?
- Because i had asked for help.
- Help for his behaviour,
- help for his mental health.
- Help to reconnect the parent/child relationship damaged by the trauma of FDV.
So this is our country's response to violence against women and children?
- To blame a survivor?
- Am I to be held accountable for the actions of the abuse perpetrated against me and my son?
- Is my son to be torn away from me and the rest of his support network because of the trauma response caused by his farther?
- I and my son are survivors of DV,
- and now we are victims of a government regime that expects the victims to be held accountable for the actions of their abusers.
- As if my child hasn't suffered enough
This framework of seperation is not the right way.
The next court date in this horrific nightmare is on 6-8-26. I am hoping and praying that the judge see's how wrong the removal of my little ginger-ninja is, how appalling the department staffs conduct has beed. Pleading with the universe to BRING MIKEY HOME 🏡🏡🏡
