We, the undersigned residents and supporters, call on the City of Vincent to designate Farr Avenue as a “Local Traffic Only” zone and implement a Residents-Only Parking Scheme to protect the safety, amenity, and livability of this narrow heritage street.

Why this matters: Farr Avenue was built in the 1930s, long before the rise of high-volume vehicle traffic.

Today, it is overwhelmed by overflow parking from Beatty Park Leisure Centre, with cars parked on both sides of a two-way street, creating daily congestion, noise, and safety hazards. The slamming car doors symphony on a daily basis from 5 AM to 7 PM

Residents are often unable to park near their homes, and the street lacks basic traffic signage and line markings.

We request the City of Vincent to: 

• Designate Farr Avenue as “Local Traffic Only” to discourage through traffic
• Implement Residents-Only Parking during peak hours
• Introduce clear speed signage and line markings
• Ensure Beatty Park patrons are encouraged to use on-site parking and change rooms.

Let’s restore Farr Avenue as a safe, quiet, and livable residential street.
