For all borderlands fans, old and new, it was a shock to see the trailer for the upcoming Borderlands movie which is being produced by Lionsgate.

  At the very start we are seeing Cate Blanchett and Kevin Hart, while amazing actors, they do not fit their respective roles as Lilith (Cate Blanchett) and Roland (Kevin Hart). While casting the wrong actors for characters can be something that works out sometimes, we see that Kevin Hart's Character Roland does not have anywheres close to the same personalities as shown in the game. The characters personalities make a huge impact on the Plot, humor, and Character development which made borderlands the Award winning game series it is.

  Furthermore if we compare the story that is conveyed in the trailer to the story of the game, we see that there are many major plot lines which are either taken out, skipped, or changed. For instance we see that the characters in the trailer are talking about "looking for something called a vault." Us as characters in the first Borderlands game in the series, chase after a vault on the planet called Pandora. The story follows four original "Vault Hunters" opening the vault on Pandora which contained the creature known as "The Destroyer." The trailer shows us that there are 2 missing characters, as well as 2 returning character from sequels to the first game in the franchise. This completely changes the entire story of the first game which completely eliminates the ability for original Borderlands players to enjoy a story which was completely reshaped by the directors.

   This comes as a huge disappointment as we see the popular game franchise "Fallout" receive one of the most accurate and entertaining renditions from Gameplay to movie. With all of this said we cannot allow Lionsgate to produce a movie that will deface the original plot of the award winning games series that is Borderlands.
