Recall all "GOODbehavior Sentry Calming Collar for Cats" from all stores and cease production.
The Issue
This is important because this product is DANGEROUS!!! After having a professional vet apply this collar to my new adopted kitty, we took her home. That night while we slept she must have gotten it caught in between her mouth and panicked. We woke up to find her with the collar caught in between her mouth pulling her cheeks back all of the way and rubbing the corners of her mouth raw. Horrified, I immediately removed it, which proved extremely difficult because the collar would not "break away" as advertised. However, upon researching I discovered that MANY people not only have encountered, but KNOW about this issue. I am not against the concept of a calming collar (there is a reason I purchased this product after all) BUT I trusted the item to be safe and "break away" as advertised if there was a problem. This collar needs to be redesigned as actually break-away if it is EVER to appear in stores again.
Some sample reviews on Amazon.com from other kitty parent's read:
"this collar is not a breakaway collar, there for can potentially kill your cat! It is very hard to put in and adjust the size. My cat hated the collar and would try to bite it off, the collar got stuck in his mouth two different times and was choking him. He went into panic mode and ran around the hous choking himself. Thank god I was home to take it off him before he choked himself to death. I can not say that this collar did it did not work considering it almost killed me cat. I would advise you to not get this collar, and definitely do not leave the cat unattended if you do decide to get it."

"Does this product work-yes-would I use it again? Absolutely not!!! Thankfully I was home and heard something when my cat had the collar partially around her neck and stuck in her jaw. She was going crazy trying to get it off-panting as it was being pulled tighter. She was under a bed I cannot crawl under and thankfully she came close enough where I could pull it out and get the collar off. The collar ripped her mouth and she was bleeding. I am shocked this collar came recommended from my vet. I would never use it again. It is made out of a stiff plastic with a slip through locking device. Yes it addressed her initial problem but at the potential cost of her life."

"I bought one of these to help ease a move to a new apartment. The first few days were fine, but this morning I found the collar caught in his mouth, rubbing his cheeks raw.
The collar did not breakaway and my cat was in pain. I had to cut it off of him.
I would never put another one of these on my cat and neither should you."

"I am so lucky I was home when my own cat got this stuck in his mouth and so mad reading reviews of the people whose poor cats got hurt when this happened to them. Unless you are going to do what one reviewer suggested and put a piece of the collar on your own breakaway collar for your cat I would never suggest this item. I am thinking of contacting the company first thing in the morning because I am upset over how much it stressed out and could have potentially hurt my poor cat out"

"THIS product is awful! My cat got this collar lodged between his neck and his mouth; leaving his mouth jarred open for 2 hours! NOW he has two gaping wounds on both sides of his face, no whiskers left and both cheeks are completely stained burgundy with BLOOD- after chocking, and gagging trying to get this horrible collar off! It was 11 pm when I finally noticed what had happened. He almost killed himself! This collar was suppose to calm his anxiety and was recommended by his vet; but it did the EXACT OPPOSITE!! He is completely disfigured and I have been completely distraught!! BE WARNED! THIS IS NOT A BREAK AWAY COLLAR! My poor kitty! He, my other kitty and I are completely TRAUMATIZED! Additionally he needs to go to the vet now for THESE HUGE GAPING WOUNDS but he is so anxious about leaving the house that I am stuck trying to figure out how not to create further trauma! ABSOLUTELY DO NOT BUY THESE COLLARS. They need to be recalled!!"
