Rebuild Wild Waters

0 have signed. Let’s get to 15,000!

In 2014, a petition was created and signed by over 3,400 people demanding that Wild Waters be saved. A copy of that petition was sent to Governor Rick Scott, the Silver Springs Advisory Group, the Marion County Commissioners, the Ocala City Council, Florida State Park management and other State Officials.

EVERY State Official (elected and non-elected) ignored the thousands of people who signed the petition and closed Wild Waters in 2016.

In December 2018, the Florida Park Service began Demolition, Against the will of the People.

We're supposed to have a Democracy & a Government which is “of the people, for the people and by the people”.

Since the "people" wanted Wild Waters preserved, every State Official (elected and non-elected) should have respected the people's wishes and taken actions to make sure it was preserved.

On August 26, 2018, the Ocala Star Banner published an article titled "Diving in and going big"  revealing the Marion County Florida Commissioners are considering spending 23 Million Dollars for an Aquatic Center. It would have been a lot less expensive to fix up the Water Park we had, which so many people loved.

One of the things which made Wild Waters unique and outstanding was how the flumes wrapped around the trees, and it's beautiful natural setting.

Since it appears the Marion County Florida Commissioners have the ability to come up with 23 Million Dollars, we are asking them to Build a New and Updated Wild Waters, with a lazy river and all the attractions people have come to expect at today's Water Parks at it's current location or a similar Natural setting with Trees and Flumes going around them, instead of the Concrete Structure they are considering.

If you agree, please sign this petition and tell the Marion County Commissioners you want Wild Waters Re-Built. Here's a link to their contact page; https://www.marioncountyfl.org/about/phone-directory/contact-us-commissioners
