Myself and my partner have recently taken into our care 3 deceased animals from Thundersley Park Road in Benfleet Essex in the last 6 weeks, and numerous before that. These include foxes, badgers and domestic pets that are being looked for by their owners and then being told people have found an animal dead in the middle of the road! This is due to the speed drivers race up and down the road and animals clearly don't stand a chance! Will it have to take a child to be knocked down by careless driving? Can a speed limit be introduced to roads like Thundersley Park Road to stop these tragedies from happening again?. I don't think the electronic speed awareness signs are adequate, for example like the ones down Kents Hill Road in Benfleet where I have seen many cars race up and down the road swerving around parked cars and simply ignoring the speed limit! To add to this on Kents hill road there is two schools and on Thundersley Park Road there are two care homes for the elderly with dementia and nursing needs. Speeding motorists put these people at great risk of being run over! actual speed humps are needed down this road, like they are very effective down other roads I've been down in the south east.
