Domestic Violence Awareness Month is ending, and the Violence Against Women Act will continue to stay unfunded unless we see a radical change of heart by Congress in the next 48 hours.
It's time to demand answers from our politicians. Before Domestic Violence Awareness Month ends on the evening of October 31, will you demand answers from your representatives about where they stand on the Violence Against Women Act?
Why is Mitch McConnell refusing to hold a Senate vote on the House-passed reauthorization of the VAWA?
Why have we had numerous Democratic debates for the next President of the United States, and the only presidential candidate who has called out the stalling of the VAWA is Senator Amy Klobuchar? (Props, by the way).
A Supreme Court Justice was credibly accused of sexual assault. He is serving on the Supreme Court, unchecked. The President of the United States was credibly accused multiple times of sexual assault and he is serving in the highest office of the land -- unchecked. Harvey Weinstein is roaming around town credibly accused of sexual assault and the women who feel victimized by his presence are made to feel like the problem. When is this problem going to be taken seriously?
We need our representatives on the record:
1. Do you support the House-passed VAWA legislation?
2. Will you make it a priority and demand that Senator MitchMcConnell add it to the legislative schedule? (Because let's be honest, Democrats have not made this a priority! If our leaders say they stand for women's rights, this should be at the top of the list -- not the bottom).

The very least that the people who are elected to represent us can do is be held accountable. Let's start there.
