Reassign the Marine Corps From the Navy to the Air Force

The Issue

As a 14 years veteran of the Marine Corps, I have experienced first-hand the negative effects of The Marine Corps poor talent management policies. My story is not unique, as many good Marines are forced out of the Corps due to these defunct policies. We are asking for the Marine Corps to be reassigned from the Navy to the Air Force, moving away from their historical designation and towards a more conducive environment for talent management and improved quality of life for its dedicate serving members.

The Marine Corps, established in 1775, has been a part of the Department of the Navy ever since 1798. However, a critical fact often overlooked, is the distinct operational techniques and its unique role which is overtly different from the Navy's mission. ("The Marine Corps: Separate or Equal" - Twomey, S.J).

The Air Force, having been recognized for its commendable quality of life and dynamic talent management, could frame a more supportive ambiance for the Marine Corps. A study by RAND concluded that aviators in the Air Force reported the highest job satisfaction among all military branches. ("Quality of life in the Military" - RAND Corporation).

The benefits of this potential reassignment are numerous, including higher job satisfaction, better talent management, and an overall improved quality of life for the Marines. This is a momentous change that could shape the future success and performance of the Marine Corps. We call on the Department of Defense and Congress to acknowledge these requests by reevaluating the placement of the Marine Corps under Navy leadership and considering their reassignment under the Air Force.

We humbly request all concerned citizens to extend their support by signing this petition. Let's fight for the welfare of our Marines. Your signature could lead the way for a more effective, stronger Marine Corps. Please sign this petition today.
