Jakožto kolektiv studujících Fakulty sociálních věd Univerzity Karlovy cítíme potřebu se veřejně vyjádřit k reakci děkana FSV na narušení přednášky prof. Adama Fagana. Připadá nám, že přednáška "Beyond the Two-State Solution: Rethinking the Path to Peace After October 7th, 2023" postrádala palestinskou perspektivu, kritické dotazy byly přehlíženy a protestující studentstvo bylo konfrontováno policií způsobem, který považujeme za znepokojivý. Akademická půda by měla být místem otevřeného dialogu a spravedlivé diskuze. Proto bychom rádi vyzvali*y vedení FSV UK k ochraně hodnot akademické svobody, respektování práva na protest a zajištění vyvážených perspektiv v budoucnu. 

Vyjádřit podporu tomuto dopisu může každý, nejen studenti FSV. Podpis může být i anonymní a osobní údaje zůstanou chráněny a nebudou dále využívány.

As a collective of students from the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University, we feel the need to publicly address the Dean's response to the disruption of Prof. Adam Fagan's lecture. In our view, the lecture "Beyond the Two-State Solution: Rethinking the Path to Peace After October 7th, 2023" lacked a Palestinian perspective, critical questions were overlooked, and protesting students were confronted by the police in a manner we find concerning. Academic spaces should serve as platforms for open dialogue and fair discussion. Therefore, we would like to call on the leadership of FSV UK to protect the values of academic freedom, respect the right to protest, and ensure balanced perspectives in the future.

Anyone can express support for this letter, not just FSV students. The signature can be anonymous, and personal data will remain protected and will not be further used for any other purpose.
