Somos familiares de pacientes que requieren de un trasplante de órgano y se encuentran en la lista de espera. Esta lista es la esperanza de vida para nuestra esposa, esposo, madre, padre, hija, hijo, hermana y hermano.

Tenemos esperanza de que el gobierno actual, liderado por Lenin Moreno, y el gobierno que está por llegar, en futuras manos de Guillermo Lasso o Andres Arauz, implementen una política de salud pública para la reactivación de todos los programas de donación y trasplantes, estableciendo el presupuesto necesario para el desarrollo eficiente y efectivo de los programas de donación y trasplante. 

Estamos pidiendo que se garantice la continuidad de los trasplantes en el Ecuador, así como la seguridad de los receptores, donadores de órganos y tejidos y del personal sanitario.

Tenemos esperanza de que el Instituto Nacional de Donación y Trasplante de órganos, Tejidos y Células – INDOT, en coordinación con el Sistema Nacional Integrado de Donación y Trasplantes, asociaciones científicas, profesionales expertos y organizaciones de la sociedad civil, instrumenten acciones en el contexto tan complejo de la pandemia COVID-19, para mantener la esperanza de vida de quienes están en la lista de espera de los trasplantes.

Tenemos esperanza de que los pacientes trasplantados y en lista de espera sean incorporados como grupo prioritario en la fase uno de la vacunación contra COVID-19.

Dear citizens: We are relatives of patients who need an organ transplant and are on a waiting list. This waiting list represents the life expectancy of our wife or husband, mother or father, daughter or son, sister or brother.

We are hopeful that the current and future governments will implement a public health policy for the reactivation of all donation and transplant programs in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, in compliance with the right to health enshrined in the Constitution of Ecuador.

We hope that, as the governments of Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Chile, among others, have done, the National Institute of Organ, Tissue and Cell Donation and Transplantation - INDOT, in coordination with the National Integrated System of Donation and Transplantation, scientific associations, professional experts and civil society organizations, will implement actions in the complex context of the COVID-19 pandemic, to maintain the life expectancy of those on the waiting list for transplants. 

We are hopeful that the health authorities, responding to this national policy, will establish the necessary budget for the efficient and effective development of donation and transplantation programs that guarantee the safety of recipients, organ and tissue donors and health personnel.

We hope that the national population will deepen its commitment to life and, in the event of the death of a family member, accept to donate organs and tissues so that this irreparable loss becomes hope for the life of others.

We are hopeful that the health personnel of hospitals and clinics - within the respective protocols - will facilitate that donated organs can be used to save the lives of patients who require them.

We are hopeful that transplant and waiting list patients will be incorporated as a priority group in phase 1 of the COVID-19 vaccinationWe are on the waiting list and we will persevere until our hopes become a reality.

We, the undersigned, stand in solidarity with this cause of life, we support the families of people who are on the waiting list for organ and tissue transplants, and we ask the authorities to reactivate the transplant programs in Ecuador.

Wir sind Angehörige von Patienten, die eine Organtransplantation benötigen und auf der Warteliste stehen. Diese Liste ist die Hoffnung für das Leben unserer Frau oder unseres Mannes, unserer Mutter oder unseres Vaters, unserer Tochter oder unseres Sohnes, unserer Schwester oder unseres Bruders.

Wir hoffen, dass sowohl die ausgehende als auch die neue Regierung Ecuadors eine öffentliche Gesundheitspolitik zur Reaktivierung aller Spende- und Transplantationsprogramme im Zusammenhang mit der COVID-Pandemie umsetzen werden, in Übereinstimmung mit der Verfassung Ecuadors verankerten Rechts auf Gesundheit.

Wir hoffen, dass das Nationale Institut für Organ-, Gewebe- und Zellspende – INDOT – zusammen mit dem Nationalen Integrierten System für Organspenden- und Transplantation, wissenschaftlichen Vereinigungen, Fachleuten und Organisationen der Zivilgesellschaft Maßnahmen ergreifen wird um im komplexen Kontext der COVID-19-Pandemie die Lebenserwartung derjenigen zu erhalten, die auf der Transplantationswarteliste stehen. Die Regierungen von Argentinien, Kolumbien, Mexiko, Chile und anderen Staaten haben bereits solche Maßnahmen umgesetzt.

Wir hoffen, dass die Gesundheitsbehörden als Teil einer solchen nationalen Politik das notwendige Budget für die effiziente und effektive Entwicklung der Spenden- und Transplantationsprogramme aufstellen, um die Sicherheit der Empfänger, der Organ-und Gewebespender und des medizinischen Personals zu gewährleisten.

Wir hoffen, dass die nationale Bevölkerung ihr Engagement für das Leben vertieft und, im Falle des Todes eines Familienmitglieds, bereit ist, Organe und Gewebe zu spenden, damit dieser unwiederbringliche Verlust zur Hoffnung für das Leben anderer wird.

Wir hoffen, dass das Gesundheitspersonal in den Krankenhäusern und Kliniken durch die gewissenhafte Anwendung der entsprechenden Protokolle dafür sorgen wird, dass gespendete Organe auch verwendet werden können, um das Leben der Patienten zu retten, die sie brauchen.

Wir hoffen, dass Transplantations- und Wartelistenpatienten als prioritäre Gruppe in die erste Phase der Impfung gegen COVID-19 aufgenommen werden.

Wir stehen auf der Warteliste und werden so lange ausharren, bis unsere Hoffnungen erfüllt werden.

Wir, die Unterzeichnenden, stehen solidarisch hinter dieser Anstrengung für das Leben, wir unterstützen die Familien von Menschen, die auf der Warteliste für Organ- und Gewebetransplantationen stehen, und wir fordern die Behörden auf, die Transplantationsprogramme in Ecuador zu reaktivieren.
