Per la reobertura de Sant Miquel de Campanet: un tresor de Mallorca que no pot seguir tancat

L’església i l’entorn medieval de Sant Miquel de Campanet, del segle XIII, no són només pedra i història: són memòria viva, identitat i ànima de Mallorca. Durant segles, aquest espai ha estat refugi espiritual, punt de trobada i símbol d’arrelament per a generacions senceres. Aquí, la fe, la història i la natura han bategat juntes.

Avui, però, Sant Miquel roman tancat i en silenci. I aquest silenci fa mal. Fa mal veure com una de les joies patrimonials més estimades de l’illa queda inaccessible, privada de la vida, de les mirades i de l’estima de la gent que sempre l’ha cuidada. Un lloc que ha demostrat sobradament la seva capacitat d’unir, inspirar i enriquir culturalment, socialment i espiritualment la comunitat no pot quedar relegat a l’oblit.

Per això, els amics i simpatitzants de Sant Miquel alçam la veu amb respecte però amb fermesa. Demanam a l’Ajuntament de Campanet, a la Parròquia de Campanet i al Bisbat de Mallorca que facin possible la recuperació d’un model de gestió similar al que va rebre el Premi ARCA 2019: un projecte exemplar que protegia el patrimoni i tenia una clara funció social, donant feina a persones amb diversitat funcional, alhora que permetia l’obertura diària i el manteniment adequat del conjunt. La casa dels donats, l’entorn i l’església eren cuidats amb el màxim respecte, i el projecte es completava amb una cafeteria-botiga, concerts culturals i activitats parroquials obertes a la comunitat.

Estam convençuts que, amb voluntat, diàleg i sensibilitat, és possible tornar a donar vida a Sant Miquel. No demanam impossibles. Demanam justícia patrimonial. Demanam que aquest tresor històric no continuï tancat ni abandonat, sinó que torni a ser un espai viu, acollidor i compartit, en harmonia amb el poble i amb totes les persones que l’estimen.

Signar aquesta petició és un acte d’amor i responsabilitat.
És sumar una veu a un clam col·lectiu perquè
Sant Miquel de Campanet torni a obrir les seves portes
i torni a viure amb la dignitat que mereix.

La iglesia y el entorno medieval de Sant Miquel de Campanet, del siglo XIII, no son solo piedra e historia: son memoria viva, identidad y alma de Mallorca. Durante siglos, este espacio ha sido refugio espiritual, punto de encuentro y símbolo de arraigo para generaciones enteras. Aquí, la fe, la historia y la naturaleza han latido juntas.

Hoy, sin embargo, Sant Miquel permanece cerrado y en silencio. Y este silencio duele. Duele ver cómo una de las joyas patrimoniales más queridas de la isla queda inaccesible, privada de vida, de miradas y del cariño de la gente que siempre la ha cuidado. Un lugar que ha demostrado sobradamente su capacidad para unir, inspirar y enriquecer cultural, social y espiritualmente a la comunidad no puede quedar relegado al olvido.

Por ello, los amigos y simpatizantes de Sant Miquel alzamos la voz con respeto, pero con firmeza. Pedimos al Ayuntamiento de Campanet, a la Parroquia de Campanet y al Obispado de Mallorca que hagan posible la recuperación de un modelo de gestión similar al que recibió el Premio ARCA 2019: un proyecto ejemplar que protegía el patrimonio y tenía una clara función social, dando trabajo a personas con diversidad funcional, al tiempo que permitía la apertura diaria y el adecuado mantenimiento del conjunto. La casa de los acogidos, el entorno y la iglesia eran cuidados con el máximo respeto, y el proyecto se completaba con una cafetería-tienda, conciertos culturales y actividades parroquiales abiertas a la comunidad.

Estamos convencidos de que, con voluntad, diálogo y sensibilidad, es posible devolver la vida a Sant Miquel. No pedimos imposibles. Pedimos justicia patrimonial. Pedimos que este tesoro histórico no continúe cerrado ni abandonado, sino que vuelva a ser un espacio vivo, acogedor y compartido, en armonía con el pueblo y con todas las personas que lo quieren.

Let’s Reopen Sant Miquel de Campanet: a Treasure of Mallorca That Cannot Remain Closed

The church and medieval surroundings of Sant Miquel de Campanet, dating from the 13th century, are not just stone and history: they are living memory, identity, and the soul of Mallorca. For centuries, this place has been a spiritual refuge, a meeting point, and a symbol of belonging for entire generations. Here, faith, history, and nature have shared a single heartbeat.

Today, however, Sant Miquel remains closed and silent. And this silence hurts. It hurts to see how one of the island’s most beloved heritage jewels has become inaccessible, deprived of life, of visitors’ gazes, and of the affection of the people who have always cared for it. A place that has amply demonstrated its ability to unite, inspire, and enrich the community culturally, socially, and spiritually cannot be relegated to oblivion.

For this reason, the friends and supporters of Sant Miquel raise our voices with respect, but with firmness. We call on the Campanet Town Council, the Parish of Campanet, and the Diocese of Mallorca to make possible the recovery of a management model similar to the one that received the ARCA Award in 2019: an exemplary project that protected the heritage and had a clear social function, providing employment for people with functional diversity, while allowing daily opening and proper maintenance of the whole complex. The house of the residents, the surroundings, and the church were cared for with the utmost respect, and the project was complemented by a café-shop, cultural concerts, and parish activities open to the community.

We are convinced that, with will, dialogue, and sensitivity, it is possible to bring Sant Miquel back to life. We are not asking for the impossible. We are asking for heritage justice. We ask that this historic treasure does not remain closed or abandoned, but instead become once again a living, welcoming, and shared space, in harmony with the town and with all the people who love it.

and live once again with the dignity it deserves.
