Let's get our Health Centre back into use!

Pharmacist and Steeton resident Martin Cant says:

Many residents of Steeton and Eastburn struggle to engage with services provided by their GP because of the over reliance on telephone and online access. In addition, when a face to face option is made available this necessitates a trip to Silsden which is not always easy for the elderly, infirm or those with carer responsibilities. Meanwhile the Health Centre in Steeton remains closed for the majority of the week. 

I believe that the following face to face NHS Services should be provided from Steeton Health Centre Monday to Friday:

* Consultations for a range of acute illnesses

* Medication reviews

* Management of long term conditions such as asthma, COPD, hypertension and chronic pain

* Nurse delivered services such as application and monitoring of dressings

* Prescription management and queries

* Full range of vaccinations

* Health screening for well patients

 Modality Partnership continue to demonstrate complacency and disregard for the needs and choices of the residents of Steeton and Eastburn and patients’ continue to serve their needs rather than the other way round. The purpose of the petition is to demonstrate a mandate to put further pressure on Modality Partnership to bring the Health Centre back into full and productive use. If necessary I would be prepared to seek to identify and secure transfer of funding and resources so that equivalent services could be provided by alternative providers from the Health Centre.
