In March of 2020, at the dawn of a worldwide COVID-19 pandemic, Pickens County Medical Center,(PCMC) permanently closed it's doors to the more than 20,000 citizens it served. This was a devastating blow to the community, even without a pandemic on the horizon.

This situation can be resolved!!! We simply need our state leaders to allocate funds from the CARES Act of 2020; the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021; and any other federal or state funding sources, to be immediately issued for the sole purpose of opening the PCMC. The resources are already in place and available for disbursement. The state leaders simply need to have those funds allotted to reopening the Pickens County Medical Center. This will help save thousands of lives and give access to quality medical care to the more than 20,000 citizens of our community.
