Help the cause: take our screen time survey!

If you haven't completed our parent survey yet, now is the time. The data we collect goes directly into our advocacy work with D97 and helps us make the case for district-wide changes that support academic achievement, attention, interpersonal skills, self-regulation, and fine and gross motor development.

D97 has not been analyzing screen time data for our students at the district, grade or classroom level. A recent WSJ article noted that the average US student spent 52 minutes on school-issued devices during the school day this past school year (per edtech company Lightspeed Systems). That is down from last year, which they credit to some schools’ moves to limit classroom tech. Personally, I would be happy if my children were only spending 52min of the average school day on their 1:1 devices--it has been much more than that!

The more survey responses we have, the stronger our voice. It takes just a few minutes. Fill out the survey here.
