In 2017, the Boundary Commission split Windlesham village across two borough wards. Windlesham went from having two borough councillors representing people here to having none. A cohesive village community was divided unnecessarily. Local residents were not informed about the boundary review until it was too late. Being disenfranchised has led to residents feeling frustration and distress.

Recently, Surrey Heath Borough Councillors unanimously passed a motion to call on the Boundary Commission urgently to review the boundaries again to correct this mistake. They have refused to do so.

The people of Windlesham should have the opportunity to express their opinions on the village being split up. This petition calls on the Local Government Boundaries Commission for England to change its decision and prioritise reviewing the boundaries here to correct its mistake and re-create the ward of Windlesham.
